What is 13 - Weeks of Prayer?
The church-wide 13-weeks of prayer initiative is designed to deepen the spiritual lives of the congregation, foster community, and enhance the church's mission through collective prayer. Each week will focus on specific themes, scriptures, and prayer prompts to guide participants in their personal and communal prayer experiences. Prayer is communion with God. It is an opportunity to come to Him with thanksgiving, praises, confessions, and intercession. We live in a busy time, and the world moves in many directions. During this time of transition, let us come together to pray for the direction and leadership of Athens First Methodist Church. Make it a priority to focus on the topic/verse of the week and pray for our church as we grow closer to Him.

Join our prayer wall
Prayer is a key part of our church. We have created a prayer wall on our app to share prayer needs and requests. This is a powerful tool for bringing people together in prayer for others. When we pray we develop a burden and then a action to move. By participating in our prayer wall, individuals can feel connected to a larger community and know that they are not alone in their struggles. It is a beautiful way to show love and support for others, and to honor the power of prayer.
